Brown Butter Rice Crispy

Ok, ladies, we are way too sophisticated to make the damn recipe on the back of the cereal box. We are classy bitches; it’s time to step it up! What if I told you that it only takes one extra step to make them the best damn rice-crispy treat you have ever had??? (I stand by what I said). This is truly one of those things that’s so easy, it’s stupid, and will completely change the flavor…you will never go back (I’m sure there is a joke out there about that, but I will leave it to your imagination).

Ingredients:

10 cups Rice Crispy cereal

2 10 oz bags of Mini Marshmallows

1 cup softened butter

2 cups dehydrated mim marshmallows

Grease a 9x12 pan (I like to use butter)

In a large pot over medium heat, start to melt butter. This is the fun part, once it’s melted, we are going to let it continue to cook. This is called browning the butter. It’s going to bring out a rich nutty flavor in the butter. You will start to notice the butter in the bottom of the pot start to turn brown in color. Stir occasionally until it has reached a golden brown color. You will able to see the milk fat pieces at the bottom of the pan turn a brown color.

Add the mini marshmallows to the pot, and stir until they have melted into the butter.

Slowly add the rice-crispy’s and continue to stir.

Add in the dehydrated marshmallows and stir to incorporate.

Pour the mix into the greased pan.

I like adding a tablespoon of butter to my hands and pressing the rice crispy evenly into the pan.

If you can stand it, wait for them to cool before cutting into them. Molten mallow tends to burn the mouth, and we are classy… Right??

Cheers Babes

XOXO
