4th of July Jell-O Shots

My favorite aspect of making jello shots as an adult (vs. when we were in college!) is that I feel like it really helps set the vibe for my event (or a random Tuesday). If I'm throwing a baby shower, I'm not really trying to set the let's get trashed vibe, but an adults-only Halloween party….Bring it on. I find that is a fun way to help people loosen up and get into the party mood. I know what you are thinking "clearly, Megan, a shot is going to loosen anyone up"… but you add in jello and it's now a fun novelty party in a cup. Girls golf day??? Family boat day?? Grandma's 85 birthday?? Book club?? All perfect time for jello shots. So who's ready to party??

Ingredients:

1 box Blue raspeberry Jello

1 cup Hot water

1 cup Smirnoff red white & berry vodka

12 Maraschino Cherries

Can of Whip Cream

Bring 1 cup of water to a boil. I like to add mine to a Pyrex measuring cup and bring it to a boil in the microwave. Then it's all ready to be poured in once it boils.

In a mixing bowl, add jello powder.

Add hot water to the jello and whisk until dissolved.

Add one cup of vodka to the jello and whisk to incorporate.

Pour mixture into a small plastic cup if you need them to-go or glass shot glasses if it is a classy event!!

Let sit in the fridge for 30 minutes until the jello starts to set, and add the cherries. This will keep them from sinking to the bottom.

Put back in the fridge for another 2 hours until the jello is fully set.

I top these with a little whip cream to really pull out the red, white, and blue theme.

Then rim the edge of that MF and send it down the hatch. (we are still talking about shots, just to be clear).

Happy 4th everyone!! May your solo cups be full, the day buzz be strong, and the hangover be minimal!

XOXO

Cheers Babes
