Mothers Day Kiddo Craft

Ok, I racked my brain on a fun craft to do with the babes for mothers day that was something mamas would be happy to use or display in their home. Now don’t get me wrong, I love my macaroni necklaces and multi-colored pinch pots. I know most of us have a certain aesthetic, and if you follow me here, I’m just going to assume you are one of them. I wanted something that used the kiddo's handprint, so I started to research kids handprint art. Sadly it was all that you would expect with kid's handprint art to be. So I tried to think out of the box and came up with this cute hydrangea flower using their little fingerprints...

Tools:

Paint (pictured bellow are the colors I used)

Brush

Cardboard

Babies (ovi)

Cloth Napkins, Apron, Tea towl etc

Ok, to start, pour yourself a glass of wine. Any activity that involves kids and paint is a one drink minimum. Trust me, for everyone's sanity.

Place all the paint colors out on a plate for east access as you need them.

Set the square of cardboard under whatever you are painting to prevent it form bleeding onto the surface below. (kids are not known for moderation, so you will most likely have excess paint in some places)

I used the chubby outside part of the kid's hand to make a leaf shape to border the flower. Use both hands to create two leaves.

Once the leaf border is set up, I let the kids paint the flowers however they liked.

They had three colors to choose from, and I told them to use their fingerprints to make the petals. It was so fun to see how each one turned out.

This makes such a great gift for mothers (clearly), but grandmas, mother- in-laws, aunties, and so on. Something they will be so proud to set on their table but also something special to commemorate the babes while they are still babes.

Happy Mothers Day, Mamas! I’m sure you don’t hear it enough, but you are amazing.

XOXO
