Hugo Spritz
I love drinking sprites in the summer. They are naturally less sweet and so refreshing. The Hugo is one of my favorites and one that gets far less attention than its more popular big sister the apparel spritz. The key ingredient in this one is the addition of St. Germain, an elderflower liquor. It adds a slightly floral and citrus flavor and pairs beautifully with sparkling wine. Now seeing that it’s almost the 4th of July, I naturally had to gussy up my cocktail to be on theme. So I present a Hugo spritz 4th style.
Ingredients:
5 oz Prosecco
1 1/2 oz St.Germain
Sparkling Water (I like using the lemon ginger sparkling water from Trader Joes)
Granny Smith apple, blueberries, and raspberries for garnish
In a wine glass or your favorite fancy cup, add a handful of ice Prosecco and St.Gremain.
Top with a splash of sparkling water.
I used a small cookie cutter and cut out small stars from a slice of Granny Smith apple to add some fun 4th style to my cocktail.
Top with fresh fruit. If you want added bonus points, place a 4th of July theme straw to make the drink pop!
Warning: These go down too easily. You will lose track of how many you have had and in a drunken state, attempt to count back to figure out why you are buzzing so hard. Cheers to being day drunk
XOXO
