Rosemary Grapefruit Gin Fizz

IMG_0697.jpg

Ok, whether it’s the freaking weekend or a Tuesday night, cocktails at my house are a must. Over quarantine Aaron and I got in the habit of doing happy hour at our house every day. Yes, Every Day!!! We were locked in our house with our three children for months on end, that calls for a cocktail or two. We would take turns finding fun recipes we liked to try out. We put a show on for the kids so that we could sit for maybe 30min of uninterrupted adult time. This drink quickly became a favorite of ours. I love the tartness of the grapefruit with the earthy flavors from the gin and rosemary. It’s pretty much the perfect combo.

Serves 2

Rosemary Grapefruit Gin Fizz

1 shot Rosemary Simple Syrup

1/2 cup Grapefruit Juice

2 Shots Gin (My fav is Hendricks)

1/2 cup Club Soda

Rosemary Simple Syrup

1 cup Sugar

1 cup Water

2 sprigs fresh Rosemary

In a small saucepan, bring water, sugar, and rosemary sprigs to a boil over medium heat. Once sugar is dissolved, remove it from heat and discard rosemary sprigs. Allow to cool for 5 minutes and store in a glass jar. It will last up to a month in the refrigerator.

To make the drink add ice to a shaker. To that, add gin, grapefruit juice, and simple syrup. Place the top on and shake until the ingredients are all incorporated. Pour over ice in a rocks glass and top with club soda. I like to add a sprig of rosemary and a slice of grapefruit to my glass because your girl is fancy like that. Now sit back and enjoy Happy Hour.

Cheers Babes

XOXO
