NYE Sparkle Table

If there is one time of year, sequins are almost expected; it's NYE. Nothing like a little sparkle to ring in a new year. I love it most because dressing up is a must, and I will take any chance I can get. When I was setting the table this year, I had two thoughts for inspiration: More is always good, and use what I have.

The base of my table is black sequin fabric that I picked up from Hobby Lobby. I knew I wanted to add some sequined to the table, and this seemed like the perfect way. On top of that, I added some silver fabric I picked up at the fabric store and cut it in half down the middle to make a runner. It needs something to draw your eye to the middle.

In a lot of settings, people disapprove of mixing metals, but on NYE I feel like anything goes. I mixed my silver chargers with my gold silverware and topped them with white plates. I love to add special little touches that really personalize my table when hosting. I placed a happy new year crown and a bottle of Champagne at each setting for my guests. It adds a fun visual and helps set the tone for the party. And let me tell you, ain't no party like a VanStone party!!!

I know I preach this all the time but look around you and use what you have. I wanted to add all the sparkle to the center of the table. I went straight to my Christmas tree, pulled off some ornaments, and placed them down the center. I used a battery-operated strand of wire lights and ran those around the ornaments with some pretty silver ribbon leftover from Christmas gift wrap. I have a bin of New Year's Eve party stuff I have collected over the years, so pull out some blowers and necklaces to scatter around. Add in some flameless candles (these are amazing!! a total game changer)

I think people get so caught up in decorating for Christmas that New Year's falls by the waist side often. While you are out at the craft stores looking for Christmas stuff, think about what you want or need for New Year's. So many stores have lots of pretty sparkly Christmas stuff that will also work great for NYE.

Now pop some bubbles and try to stay awake long enough to watch the ball drop. Happy New Year Babes!

XOXO
