Chocolate Chip Cookies
I have been making these cookies for years now. These are my kiddo’s favorite cookies to bake with me. We love these so much we also started selling them at my family’s bakery. I can even say that our first house’s sale went through because I baked them for our buyers every time they toured the house!
What I’m looking for in a chocolate chip cookie is a gooey chewyness, and this recipe is all of that. I add butterscotch chips to my cookies, and I think it really brings out the rich flavor. Now I know a lot of people are purists when it comes to their CC cookies and do not like any add ins, but I’m telling you these are so good you will not go back to your old ways.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 cup Butter soften
1/2 cup granulated Sugar
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/3 cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 cup Simi Sweet Chocolate Chips (I use Guittard Chocolate. It is hands down the best and will make a huge flavor difference)
1/2 cup Butterscotch Chips
Pre heat oven to 350
Add butter to the bowl of your mixer and mix until soft.
Add brown sugar and granulated sugar and mix until texture is creamy about 3 minutes.
Add egg and continue to mix.
Add baking soda, baking powder, salt, and slowly mix in flour a little at a time. Mix until it is all incorporated.
Lastly add in your chips and mix until incorporated.
I use a #18 scoop and place my cookies on a lined cookie sheet.
Bake for 8-12 minutes or until the edges of the cookies starts to turn golden. The middle still may look a little raw, but that is how we keep them soft!
This recipe makes about 12 cookies.
There is something so warm and comforting about a chocolate chip cookie. It always takes me back to being a kid and my mom making us a big bag of cookies to take on our overnight Track trips. I hope you enjoy.
Cheers Babes
