Neutral Thanksgiving Table
I love all the creamy neutrals right now, and is a train I want 100% jump on! When I think of a traditional Thanksgiving table, I think of lots of burnt orange and gold. Now maybe it’s just me, but those colors are not in my wheelhouse. We can do better than that. Don’t get me wrong, your girl love’s a good bold statement, but there is something so elegant and chic about all of these beautiful creams and whits playing off each other to make one light and airy table. I am into it!!
The other wonderful thing about this table is that it’s most likely things you already have because it’s neutral. Stock up on the basics ladies and gents!! White plates, clear glass, vintage silver, and linen napkins are staples. Now I know what some of you are thinking…. staples for who bitch!!! So hear me out. I don’t want you spending a small fortune recreating this look; use what you have and sub out what you don’t. I have so many vases around my house; that is what landed me on this centerpiece. I love that they are all different. Most of them are from Walmart or the dollar store. So look around your house, use what you have, and pick up a few if needed. The Candles are from Trader Joe’s. I know I mention this every year on Instagram, but around the holidays, Trader Joe’s has candles usually in 3 sizes, and they are crazy inexpensive. So keep your eyes out and stock up if you can; I use them all year long.
I love playing with the dimension of the vases. Some are big, some are little, some have big candles, and some have candlesticks in them. I love the way they draw you in. Not to mention that dreamy dinner-time glow that comes when they are all lit. Who does not look good in candlelight? No One!! I put a few sprigs of silver dollar Eucalyptus in-between my vases and added a few white pumpkins around the vases and on each plate because, after all, it's thanksgiving.
If you do a lot of hosting, I would highly recommend buying your white plates in bulk. Pottery Barn and World Market offer dishes and other hosting necessities in what they call catering boxes. Another less expensive option is to rent. Most local rental companies will have all you need and should rent to you in small quantities. My linen napkins and table runner are also from Pottery Barn. These are Staples that I use all the time.
Now let talk chargers. I’m not going to lie; I have spent a bit on my charger collection over the years. I love the way they add an extra layer to your place setting. It also breaks up the white plate on a white tablecloth and adds some interest. The chargers in this setting are from Pottery Barn. I think they are a great place to start if you do not own chargers; they are neutral and go with a lot. These chargers are another great option because they are so inexpensive. I own most of these, so if i’m hosting a large group, I have enough. Lastly, the dollar store has these chargers. I have bought these for many occasions and spray painted them to whatever color I need to match my table... It a great way to get something custom without spending a lot of money.
Setting a beautiful table can be inexpensive and not as complicated as one might think. You can do it; I believe in you!
